A Decrease in facebook engagement?

You may have noticed that your Facebook feed has been crowded with various content from heart warming videos of other people to tabloid headlines. As a result, there has been a decrease in Facebook engagement. Yet, the people you actually know and follow are nowhere to be found. They are suppressed to the bottom of your feed as the public content overshadows them. The entire purpose of Facebook in connecting with others you don’t regularly see or haven’t seen in ages seems to be doing the opposite, disconnecting.
Zuckerberg’s focus for 2018 is to repair Facebook. It has drifted away from the initial intent and has had plenty of backlash within the last year. Aside from the content, the largest scandal they had was following the 2016 Presidential Election and the fake news. While it is difficult to completely control what content is posted by others on Facebook, there is a way to tailor what users view. The production teams in place will help to lead the over 20 billion monthly users to more meaningful social interactions.
